Occasionally I am open for First Fridays in Lancaster. If you come by and the lights are on, that means I am probably there working.
Other places to visit:
Lancaster is a major stopping point for people interested in the history of Pennsylvania, rural lifestyles, the Amish, restaurants, the Underground Railroad, and art. Twice a year there are Artwalks.
On the First Friday of every month many galleries remain open in the evening for browsing. Many are within a very short walking distance of my studio. Check my Links page for websites of several local galleries within walking and driving distance. For a current listing of what is happening in Lancaster and where, click on www.downtownlancaster.com and www.lancasterarts.com.
A brief list of some popular spots: the Lancaster Heritage Museum, Zanzibar (exotic soaps, artful accessories, and gifts), From Here To Timbuktu (a clothing and accessories store), Wish You Were Here (a restaurant for breakfast and lunch), Meritage (a fine restaurant), Cocina Mexicana (an inexpensive small Mexican restaurant that is very popular), the Lancaster Dispensing Company (a bar & restaurant), Carr's (an upscale restaurant), and Central Market (the oldest continuously operating farmer's market in the U.S.). Plus the Fulton Theatre, the Music Academy, the Quilt Museum, and the Puppet Theatre and Puppet Museum.
